Notes on the New Moon in Taurus, 5.7.24 @ 11:21pm EDT
We have a juicy and auspicious new moon happening tonight at 11:21pm in the sign of Taurus, my friends! After reporting on so much heavy, intense, over the top astrology lately I am pleased to say that this new moon looks like a real sparkler. I am hoping it can be used as an opportunity for a beautiful cosmic reboot.
Did you hear that? A COSMIC REBOOT. This is your mission should you choose to accept it!
This new moon is a meet up of the sun and moon, both at 18 degrees of earth sign Taurus. Taurus is all about enjoying life in our human bodies and the pleasures of the material world here on our home planet Earth. Taurus is related to value, both material things of value and our beliefs and values on a more esoteric level.
Ruled by Venus, Taurus loves the finer things in life, and enjoys all the creature comforts: good food, nice surroundings, beauty, harmony, comfort. In its lower expression Taurus is rigid and set in its ways, resisting any and all kinds of change. Taurus is symbolized by the bull, and when it digs its heels (hooves?) in there is no chance of moving this bull. Taurus can hang on to things long past their expiration date, even when they know that they are no longer useful.
There are some other key players here with this new moon. Expansive Jupiter and innovative Uranus are close by, potentially lending some good luck and fresh ideas to this new moon. Lovely Venus is also in Taurus, bestowing some beauty and sweetness here.

And to top it all off, taskmaster Saturn in mystical, magical, dream-weaving Pisces is in a supportive sextile to the new moon. Sextiles are harmonious 60 degree aspects in a chart, full of positive potential but requiring some effort to activate them. With Saturn on board in this sextile, this is a moment to both set your intentions AND put some structure around making your dreams a reality. Don’t just wish upon a star this new moon…I mean, please go ahead and make your wish BUT ALSO go ahead and sign up for the class you’ve been thinking about or make the therapy appointment or hire the financial advisor or whatever it is that will support you in achieving your goals. Go get it!
And note that the opportunities for evolution and personal growth here are really profound. With wounded healer Chiron exactly conjunct communication planet Mercury in trailblazing Aries, the potential for new levels of healing is great.

Listen, with all of that good astro news delivered, I know the news is absolutely awful right now and there is some truly devastating and terrifying shit happening in the US and all over the world. We are in the midst of a major shift in human evolution and the systems and structures in our society no longer work for us. Our old world seems to be collapsing around us. The new world is not clearly visible yet, aside from occasional glimmers on the horizon.
